Moving Into Your Suite: A Step-by-Step Checklist
Everything to line up before day one, in the order you'll actually need it.

Moving into a flex suite is smoother than a typical office move, but a little sequencing saves you a lot of scrambling. Here's the order that works.
4–6 weeks out
- Finalize the lease or purchase and your move-in date.
- Confirm any build-out scope and timeline (and who's responsible for what).
- Verify your permitted use and any Certificate of Occupancy requirements.
- Line up utilities: electricity, water, internet/phone — schedule installs early (internet is the usual bottleneck).
- Order long-lead items: racking, workbenches, signage, furniture, equipment.
2–3 weeks out
- Schedule movers or rentals; reserve the loading area if needed.
- Set up business address changes (Google Business Profile, website, invoices, mail forwarding).
- Order keys/access control and a security plan (alarm, cameras).
- Confirm insurance for the new location (liability, contents, any equipment).
1 week out
- Walk the space; build a punch list of anything unfinished.
- Test power, HVAC, internet, water, and the overhead door.
- Plan your floor layout — office, racking, work zones, customer flow.
Move-in week
- Install racking and heavy equipment first, then inventory, then office.
- Mount signage and finish the customer-facing front.
- Set up restrooms, breakroom, and safety gear (extinguishers, first aid, exits clear).
- Do a final walkthrough and document the space's condition with photos.
First 30 days
- Update all listings and marketing with the new address and a photo of the suite.
- Tune the layout based on how the work actually flows.
- Introduce yourself to neighboring tenants — flex parks are good networks.
